Reclaimed Wood Furniture
|
Talk
about wood with a story behind it. The wood
used to craft these one of a kind furniture
pieces comes from the Globe Elevator. When
construction was finished on this elevator
in 1887, it was the largest grain elevator
in the world. The main building comprises
over 2 million board feet of white pine. The
rough-sawn dimension lumber used as the
walls of the grain bins is de-nailed, kiln
dried, and manufactured at Acorn Millwork
into beautiful furniture for your home,
office, or res taurant.
With such a large quantity of reclaimed wood
in the Globe Elevator we are able to produce
a consistent product from the first piece to
the last piece. Add any of these unique
pieces to your rustic décor, and feel good
about it because you helped the environment.
Crafted by skilled craftsmen at Acorn
Millwork, we understand the natural beauty
and uniqueness of reclaimed wood. Carefully
dismantled and de-nailed the furniture has a
wide range of nail holes, knot patterns,
rough and circle sawn marks, and a natural
patina. All joints and mortises are screwed
and glued to give you furniture to last you
a life time.
