Reclaimed Wood
|
Reclaimed
lumber is used wood that has been taken for
re-use. Often this is wood from
long-standing idle buildings, and it’s
sometimes refinished for new purposes. Most
reclaimed lumber comes from timbers and
decking rescued from old barns, factories
and warehouses and some companies have been
known to source wood from less traditional
structures such as boxcars, coal mines, and
wine barrels. Reclaimed or antique lumber is
used primarily for decoration and home
building and is often used for siding,
architectural details, cabinetry, furniture
and flooring.
Acorn Millwork and Duffney Custom Cabinets
uses a wide range of reclaimed wood from
barns built at the turn of the century,
tobacco barns, industrial buildings, dams,
and bridges. From hand-hewn beams, barn
siding, dimensional lumber, and resawn beams
we are able to provide you with complete
interior and exterior finishes.
Acorn Millwork and Duffney Custom Cabinets
wants to introduce you to a one of a kind
product that will add exceptional beauty and
American history to your next project. We
offer a full line of reclaimed products that
come from the Globe Elevator. When built in
1885, the Globe Elevator was the largest of
its kind in the world. These old grain
shoots had millions of bushels of grain run
over them since 1885. With every piece of
reclaimed flooring, paneling, millwork,
cabinets, furniture and door, we continue
the story of this one of a kind building.
Now put this unique product into your

Acorn
Millwork also offers box beams made from
reclaimed wood. Box beams are cost effective
and offer many advantages. Using box beams
on your project give you the ability to hide
your wiring within the beam. Also, box beams
allow Acorn Millwork to produce a beam that
is any size, straight, mortise pocket free
(if wanted), and all around a better
quality. Best of all it is a product that is
lighter in weight and easier to install.
